About Monte Stevens
The purchase of my first digital camera awakend a passion that had been dormant since junior high school. I now faced a learning curve in using the camera and computer software, so I started reading as much as I could in books and on the internet with my best teacher being practice.
A job loss in 2003 placed me on a new path and a journey I was ready to walk. I continued to pursue the joy of photography and added some travel, which included some motorcycle touring. At the age of 57 I began working as a flight attendant where I lived/worked a nomadic life of travel, always with my camera hung over a shoulder. Retired in 2014 and still carry a camera with me.
It took time before I was comfortable with publicly sharing my images. My subjects of interest include landscapes, flowers, architecture, all our brothers and sisters in the animal kingdom and portraits. I enjoy time in nature where I attempt to capture moments in a two-dimensional print. I also enjoy trying to capture people's personality in portraits. My photography is constantly evolving, hopefully for the better.
Please feel free to visit my website and blog. You can leave comments and critiques on my images and writings, I need them. I hope you enjoy all that you see and read on my blog as well as here.
